The Institute of Chemical, Environmental and Biosciences Engineering, Research Group Environmental Microbiology and Molecular Diagnostics at the IFA Tulln site, has a vacant positionfor a Project Assistant starting August 2021 (30 hours per week, limited to a maximum of 3 years) with the following job profile.
-Collaboration in a 3-year research project funded by the FFG.
-Application of microbiological and molecular biological methods for diagnostic purposes
-Development of a cell lysis methodas a contribution to an integrative point-of-care lab-on-a-chip system
-Practical work also at our locations and in the labsof partner institutions
-Writing of a dissertation and scientific publications as well as participation in conference
-Completed master's or diploma studies in biochemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, biotechnology, microbial ecology or similar disciplines
-Basic knowledge and practical experience in the fields of cultivation of microorganisms, molecular biological analysis (PCR, qPCR, microarrays)
-Interest in scientific work and in writing scientific publications
-Willingness for mobility to work in laboratories of project partners in Vienna and Lower Austria
-Reliable and independent way of working
-Friendly, open manner and ability to work in a team
-Good knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken
-B driving license desirable
-Part-time position as project assistant (30h/week), salary € 2228,70-gross/month (14x per year)
-Collaboration in a dynamic, interdisciplinary team with cooperation partners from national industry and national and international science
-The main workplace is atIFA Tulln in Tulln, Lower Austria. If required,you will occasionally work in our laboratories at the TU Wienand Labs ofour cooperation partners in Vienna and Lower Austria.
-The research team is part of the Inter-University Cooperation Center Water & Health
