Scientific Award of the City of Vienna

Scientific Award of the City of Vienna (Water Section) was awarded to a scientific member of the Interuniversity Cooperation Centre for Water & Health

In the frame of a ceremonial evening event on October 29, the Scientific Award of the City of Vienna (Water Section) was awarded to Dipl.-Biol. Dr. Julia Vierheilig (Centre for Water Resource Systems, Vienna University of Technology).

The award was attributed to Julia Vierheilig for her publications on the evaluation of commonly used alternative method for the analysis of microbiological water quality. The application range and limits of the tested methods were evaluated for two major drinking water catchment areas of the city of Vienna. The obtained results have a great impact on the usage of these methods and can significantly facilitate drinking water management. This work was realised within the frame of the “Vienna Doctoral Programme on Water Resource Systems“, funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF).
