On 17.11.2022, the Lower Austrian Society for Research Promotion (GFF) awarded the Impact Award to PhD students for the first time. The award was given to science projects with the highest relevance for the scientific community as well as for the general public. In the poster presentations of the still ongoing research projects from the Science Calls 2018 and 2019, our Carmen Rehm reached 1st place with a visually and content-wise outstanding poster!

Carmen is working in the Department of Water Quality and Health at the Karl Landsteiner University in Krems in collaboration with the Research Group for Microbiology and Molecular Diagnostics at TU Wien and the Department of Water Microbiology at the Medical University Vienna on her dissertation on the topic: "Assessing the public health relevance of toxigenic and non-toxigenic Vibrio cholerae in bathing waters in Lower Austria: occurrence, distribution, diversity and potential pathogenicity".
