Claudia Kolm awarded Lower Austrian Science Prize

The Lower Austrian Science Future Prize 2022 was awarded to our KL Post-Doc Claudia Kolm at the Science Gala in Grafenegg Castle on 18 October.

At the Science Gala, the achievements of young researchers in particular were also honoured: Four young researchers who are at the beginning of their scientific careers were awarded the "Science Future Prize" of the Society for Research Promotion Lower Austria (GFF).

In this category, Claudia Kolm, among others, was convincing with her dissertation: Our post-doc in the Division of Water Quality and Health at the KL dedicated her work to the development of reliable and at the same time cost-effective rapid test procedures that should make it possible to detect bacterial contamination in water bodies more quickly in the future. In this way, the researcher is making a significant contribution to safeguarding water quality worldwide.

Jochen Danninger, the Provincial Councillor for Economics and Technology, congratulated on behalf of Provincial Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner and emphasised: "Science needs role models just as much as we celebrate them in sport or the music industry. People who act as role models, whom we look up to and whose successes we emulate. People who get you excited about science." And Claudia is definitely a person who lives with full enthusiasm for her research and her science field.
